R.I.P. ALBUM OF THE WEEK

Hi all. After lengthy debate we have decided with some sadness that Album of the Week has run its course and will come to an end. It was 5 years ago that we started this little guy to highlight classic and or new LPs and artists that deserve to be heard, and we hope we achieved that. Thanks for stopping by and to the artists for sharing your amazing tunes with us.
It’s been real.

evan voytas - You Don't Even Know Where It's At

Here is the first fantastic tune off AoTW favourite Evan Voytas forthcoming Feel me EP. This is what it would sound like of Prince started a band with Hall and oates. Feel me is out Jan 24 through Dovecote Records. 1 comment

Fantasy Island - Lost and Found

Very short but VERY cool, lazy electronic moods and vocals from LA duo Fantasy Island. 1 comment

love of diagrams - in my dream

So stoked to see a new release from Melbourne's Love of Diagrams, this echoing epic is off their brand new 7" - In my dream. 3 comments

dream west - saturn valley

Have this on repeat at the moment, new one from producer Dream West. If you like this track make sure you head over to bandcamp for sooo much more of this goodness. 1 comment

islands - this is not a song

Islands released one of our favourite albums in 2006 and are are back with a new track off their forthcoming LP 'A sleep & A forgetting'. No catchy smart pop tune here this is just a beautiful ballad, enjoy. 1 comment

gauntlet hair - top bunk

Chicago duo Gauntlet hair have a new video and its full of Arnold Schwarzenegger clips, including commando! Thats not the best thing, its the music; wall of amazing echoing noise that contradicts their duo status. 2 comments

inspired and the sleep - while we're young

Love this song from Inspired and the sleep, think islands, animal collective, Tune-Yards. The video is killer, from Londons Panaframe; hitting up the nostalgic craze with great results. 2 comments

neverever - wedding day

Catchy energetic, cool punk-pop track with a ‘50s jukebox vibe and hints of ‘Parallel Lines’-era Blondie on the female vocals and strokes-like riffs. 1 comment

brown bread - body combat

We've posted about Brown Bread before but She has just debuted a new EP (with friend colin) including a crump worthy video. Haunting, casually encapsulating vocals and beats throughout. Hit the bandcamp to get your hands on the whole release. 1 comment
